Casio has added another model to its ever-popular Exilim range, the EX-Z700.

The EX-Z700, as the name implies, boasts 7.2 effective megapixels, and a large, 2.7-inch Super Bright LCD for easy viewing in broad daylight.

The long life battery holds enough charge for about 460 still images on one charge, so it's perfect for snapshots on holiday when access to a charger isn't as handy as at home.

The camera also incorporates Casio's proprietary Anti-Shake DSP to reduce blurring due to shaky hands.

New Best Shot modes are also part of the package. Auto Framing follows a moving subject and creates a frame within the normal frame of the camera that is centred on the moving subject.

Layout Shot mode sounds intriguing; it combines multiple shots into the same background, or mixes different shots together for a collage effect.

Other specifications include a standard 3x optical zoom, 4x digital, video recording in AVI, and built-in flash memory of 8.3MB and compatibility for SDHC/SD/MMC cards.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 will be available in silver and gunmetal gray in the UK and Ireland from August.
