Canon has launched three new PowerShot models into its range of compact digital cameras, the G10, SX1 IS and SX10 IS.

The PowerShot G10 is a 14.7-megapixel compact with 5x wide-angle (28mm) optical zoom.

Angled as a "companion camera" for experienced photographers, the PowerShot G10 gets Canon’s new DIGIC 4 processor for what the company claims is exceptional image quality.

The G10 offers a new 3-inch high-resolution PureColor LCD II that is said to provide exacting detail in replay.

Canon states the addition of RAW shooting and support for Digital Photo Professional allows total creative freedom with your images after the shoot.

Canon hopes both "tech fans" and experienced photographers will appreciate the 20x wide-angle optical zoom of the PowerShot SX1 IS.

The 10-megapixel compact also boasts 4fps continuous shooting and it's capable of high-quality video with the ability to capture "Full HD" movies, for playback on your computer or HDTV.

The PowerShot SX10 IS is also a 10-megapixel offering and also gets a 20x wide-angle (28mm) lens and image stabilisation.

The PowerShot G10 is available from October priced at £499.99 / 649.99 euros, the PowerShot SX1 IS is available from December priced at £519.99 / 679.99 euros while the PowerShot SX10 IS is available from October priced at £359.99 / 469.99 euros.
