Canon is claiming two world firsts with its latest projector duo.
Both join the REALiS multimedia projector line.
First up is the REALiS WUX10, which is claimed to be the world’s first WUXGA-resolution (1920 x 1200) widescreen Multimedia Projector using LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology.
"It delivers the highest resolution of any Canon projector and provides precise color reproduction and exceptional image quality", says the manufacturer.
Next up is the Canon’s REALiS SX80 Multimedia Projector, which is a high-resolution SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) model and the world’s first projector to offer PictBridge connectivity.
With easy installation and affordability, this projector is ideal for users in corporate, education and other professional fields.
Both feature new LCOS panels, which are said to get round the problem of the "screen door effect" - in which a faint grid pattern appears over the projected image.
Both of the projectors also feature newly developed Canon 1.5x powered zoom/focus lenses that suppress lens aberrations, and a 10:0 lens offset, reducing the need for tilting and/or keystone correction.
