Not content with making camera fans' jaws hit the floor with the announcement of the Canon EOS C300, Canon has dropped some juicy details regarding a new digital SLR camera that is still under development.

The concept is for a EOS-series digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera that offers the 4K shooting of the C300, but also throws in a 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor. This would allow for videos at a frame rate of 24P, with Motion-JPEG compression in place.

The idea being that you'd be able to simultaneously shoot super high quality video without compromising on the detail of the stills.

Canon states the concept "will make possible the type of exceptional image quality and sublime imaging expression to be expected from the next generation of EOS Movies."

There are no details as to when this super camera will land, or indeed any indication as to how much this sort of tech will cost (lots, we're guessing) but we'll keep you posted as and when we find out more.
