Photographic retailer Jessops has announced it has chosen to support children's charity Barnado's in 2009, following a two month tender process opened up by Jessops to registered charities across the UK.

Barnardo's helps abused, vulnerable and neglected children across the UK, and supports over 115,000 children, young people and families every year.

Commenting on the partnership, Karen Lamerick, head of marketing for Jessops said: "We had an instant chemistry with the Barnardo's team and were drawn to their holistic approach to fundraising and struck by their enthusiasm for working with our business".

"Jessops is extremely proud to be supporting disadvantaged young people throughout the UK and we look forward to the exciting fundraising projects to ensue throughout 2009".

The company has already kicked off its charity partnership by raising £7,000 at the photography retailer's annual conference. The amount was raised through a charity auction and a variety of activities on the day.

Jessops will soon be announcing a programme of fundraising events in support of Barnardo's set to take place throughout 2009. Keep your eye out for any in store events and be sure to get involved where you can for a very worthy cause.
