Epson has announced two new generation multimedia photo viewers that have been designed with photographers on the go in mind.

The P-6000 and the P-7000 offer photographers the opportunity to download and view their photos on a 4-inch, 640x480 (VGA) resolution LCD screen, while also offering them the peace of mind of a compact, on-location back-up for their images.

The screen on the two new viewers has been advanced to a new benchmark compared to previous models, with the introduction of Photo Fine Premia. Adobe RGB colour space is now increased to 94% coverage, rather than the 88% in previous models.

Download speeds are also up to 35% faster than previous models for added productivity. With hard drive capacities of 80GB in the P-6000 and 160GB in the P-7000, thousands of even RAW image files can be backed up wherever images are captured for peace of mind and security.

With a user-friendly interface, Epson’s multimedia photo viewers give on-the-go photographers the ability to zoom in on both RAW and JPEG images, confirm histogram data and create custom folders – all without needing to bring a laptop to remote, or even hostile locations.

Both models also support video and audio file storage and playback, but a little exlcusive for the P-7000 only is a Travel Pack including dual battery charger and car adapter for enhanced portability.

Both models will be available in September for an estimated street price of $599.99 for the P-6000 and $799.99 for the P-7000. No details on European dates or pricing but they're yours when we get them.
