Pinnacle Systems has just announced HD support for its range of Pinnacle Studio products, indicating just how mainstream HD video is becoming.

The release of HD camcorders targeted at the consumer market by Canon and Sony is prompting other manufacturers involved in the consumer video recording market to think about HD support.

Pinnacle’s software, version 10.6, ensures that even beginners can organise and edit their HD videos simply and easily.

Jeff Hastings, general manager of Pinnacle Systems, said, “We are well positioned to grow even stronger as consumers select Studio as the best tool for creating and distributing videos in HD formats, and sharing videos with friends in web-based social networking settings.”

Features of the Pinnacle Studio series of products include Optimal HD editing with support for all wide-screen displays; new tools for better file management; and enhanced stability that is similar to professional editing products.

The basic software starts at a price of £49.99 from the Pinnacle Systems website
