Photographers will soon be able to bore family members and friends with their holiday photos while still on holiday thanks to a new digital frame launched at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas.
Called the Digital Photo Receiver, the 15-inch electronic photo frame allows users to share their digital images straightway by uploading images to a central server online which are then downloaded to the device.
Once on the central server, images can be managed, edited and shared directly to the electronic photo frame. The picture frame, which must be connected to a telephone line, downloads any new pictures every 15 minutes to share from anywhere in the world. The device will even support picture messaging from your phone via MMS.
The unit has the ability to receive and display up to 100 digital photos every day on the standard model or up to 30 photos every hour on a wireless version that connects to a standard wireless-b enabled network.
Unfortunately, the Digital Photo Receivers aren't available yet in the UK, however a spokeswomen for Ceiva, the makers of the frame, told Pocket-lint that the company was hoping to have the frame on sale in the UK by the end of the year.
We will keep you posted.
