Konica Minolta has launched two new cameras today both offering 5 megapixels resolution: The DiMage Z20 and the DiMage Z5. However the company is yet to confirm a price or launch date.

DiMage Z20


The first of the two is the Z20, a model that replaces the Z10, offers an 8x optical and 4x digital zoom and a 0.5-second start up time. Konica Minolta is also boasting a long battery life and suggests you'll be able to get 450 frames from the four AA batteries included.

The DiMage z5


The bigger brother it seems of the two the camera still offers a 5 megapixel resolution but also a 12x optical and 4x digital zoom to go with it.

Moving on from the Z3 the camera has added a hot-shoe, and a larger LCD display (2in) and continues to use the Minolta's Anti-Shake system.

The DiMAGE Z5 has Rapid AF, the fastest*1 Autofocus system for digital cameras with predictive focus control. Focusing in a mere 0.2 second (approx.) at wide angle and only 0.3 second (approx.) at telephoto, it's ideal for capturing any subject, moving or static.
