Newly formed Konica Minolta has announced three new cameras at PMA this year. One for beginners, one for the mid-range and one for high-end professionals.

The Dimage X21 is the camera Konica Minolta hope will suit beginners and follows the common concept of the current X-Series. The X21 continues in the vein of being one of the smallest cameras around and has a start up time of just one second. The camera is clearly aimed at those looking to take pictures of themselves as it has a mirror on the front to check yourself before taking a self-portrait.

The Dimage Xg is Konica Minolta's 3.2 mega pixel offering. The camera has a 3x optical zoom and follows in the footsteps of the Dimage Xt. The camera also houses a 1.6” LCD display on the rear and has automatic digital subject program modes, a continuous advance of 2 frames per second, multi-frame drive, image pasting, night movie mode and is PictBridge compatible and supposedly the fastest start up time in the world (0.8 seconds)

The DiMAGE Z2 is Konica Minolta's high-end offering. A 10X optical zoom with 4 mega pixel performance the camera is the second in the series of Konica Minolta's easy-to-use, powerful SLR-type digital cameras and a step up from the DiMAGE Z1. The DiMAGE Z2 also boasts the Rapid AF (Autofocus) and high-quality VGA/SVGA movie functionality of its predecessor. This time the camera features a GT lens and a 4-megapixel resolution, delivering picture clarity at the very top end of the spectrum. The addition of a Predictive Focus Control has increased the speed of the AF function, which means that shooting sports events or any moving object are even more easy.
