Sanyo has announced the arrival of the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA100, a waterproof dual camera, which Sanyo boasts is its "most powerful ever".

With a video camera capable of shooting HD 1080i video and a stills camera with 14-megapixels on board, it is clear that Sanyo has thrown some pretty heavy spec into its Xacti range.

The Xacti VPC-CA100 also boasts a wide-angled 35mm lens, 12x double range advanced zoom, a light to help underwater filming, HDMI out and operating underwater up to 3m in depth.

It's less than 5cm thick and it weighs in at 242g. It still manages to pack a fairly decent sized LCD screen though (2.7 inches) and keeps the familiar pistol-grip form. It records onto SD cards in MP4 format, which makes it easy to upload your videos to YouTube and the like.

The camera is out now and will cost you around £350. It's available in yellow, pink or black.
