Liquid Image is launching three new underwater camera and video masks at CES this week.

The company released the first version of the mask last year, but the new versions have been upgraded and improved to varying levels for different uses.

The most basic of the three new additions is the VideoMask 310, which allows snorkellers, free divers and shallow scuba divers to capture underwater video and photo content, hands free.

The video is D1 (720 x 480) and records at a rate up to 30fps, while the original model only recorded at up to 20fps. The camera mode is able to take still photos of upto 5 megapixels.

Both photos and videos can be captured at up to 10 metres deep, and can be recorded onto the 16MB interal flash memory, or onto a Micro SD/SDHC card of upto 8GB. Each GB of memory will allow for around 20 minutes of video.

The VideoMask 310 is set for international release in February 2009 with an estimated RRP of $159.

For more serious scuba divers who will be wanting to go deeper than 10 metres, the Scuba Series HD320 VideoMask allows for handsfree high definition recording of video and photographs of up to 35 metres.

Just as with the VideoMask 310, you'll still be able to capture still images of 5 megapixels, but the video mode will be improved to HD 720P recording.

This model features a slightly expanded 64MB internal flash memory, but it can be upgraded with a Micro SD/SDHC up to 32GB which would allow for up to 16 hours of video footage.

Set for international release in the spring this year, the Scuba Series HD320 will hit the shelves with a price tag of $215.

Last up, and the flagship model of the series, the Liquid Image Pro HD350 VideoMask has been developed with professional scuba divers in mind.

Tested and certified to work underwater at depths of up to 100 metres, the mask otherwise features similar features to those of the HD320 with 720P HD video and 5 megapixel stills.

Also set for a release some time in the spring this year, this VideoMask is waiting for a price to be confirmed. We'll get it to you when we have it.
