Yes, it's the time you've all been waiting for. No longer will you have to pace the room, twiddling your thumbs, looking anxiously at the clock wondering, hoping and longing that Apple will announce its answer to all the sadness and worries of the world.

What are we talking about? It's, of course, Apple's return of 12 days of Christmas on iTunes - whoop dee doo.

App Store

It's an annual Apple occurrence we know, but it's rare that Apple ever give anything away without you having to pay through the nose hence it being features in our App-vent slot; so if you have, or think you might be getting some kind of iPod/iPhone/iPad, then the iTunes 12 days of Christmas app is ready to download.

The app will enable you to download free content courtesy of Apple for 12 days, and each one will be available for just 24 hours. However, as normal you won't be able to receive any goodies until after Christmas Day; the offer runs from the 26 December 2010 to 6 January 2011.

The free gifts include music, TV, iBooks, apps and films and all you have to is download the app and switch notifications on - this will mean that you'll get a message each day when the free content is ready to download. It also means Apple can tempt you with a variety of other bit and pieces at the same time.
