A programmer has developed a Twitter Google mashup to allow Twitter users in the UK to track, what is being called, #uksnow.

The website which takes snow reports from Twitter users based on postcode and a snow rating out of 10 is then automatically mapped on to a Google Map so Twitter users can see where the snow has fallen and how good it is.

"Umm... you know I didn't think to track that! Although, in the last 12 hours I make it somewhere in the region of 500 tweets" said Ben Marsh, the site's creator.

All Twitter users have to do is Tweet the first half of your postcode, plus the amount of snow you're seeing:

"#uksnow [POSTCODE] [SCORE]/10", ie: "#uksnow SL5 6/10".

The site automatically updates every minute. Not surprisingly the London Twitter community seems to be providing the most information at present.
