Twitter has introduced a number of new searching features that it says will make it easier to find new people to follow, whilst also helping when sourcing information.

“We’ve made it easier to find and follow Twitter accounts based on your interests,” says the company on a blog post. When you search for a topic, you can now discover accounts that are relevant to that particular subject. Just click on the "people" section of the search results page or search from the “Who to follow” page.

It means that you only have to search for a subject rather than knowing the exact name of those that cover the subject.

After an initial search users will be able to opt for more advanced search functionalities like tweets from specific people or hashtags.

Interestingly, Twitter has gone one stage further than Google and allowed you to search for tweets that are positive, negative, includes a question, or a retweet.
