Spotify has announced a new partnership that'll soon make its streaming service a go-to for coffee lovers around the world.

The company has entered into a multi-year agreement with Starbucks, and as part of that deal, 7,000 Starbucks-operated stores in the US will be able to enjoy what Spotify has described as a "first-of-its-kind music ecosystem".

Coffee drinkers will not only be able to access "Starbucks music" on Spotify, but they'll also have the ability to influence in-store playlists. Spotify said the deal will go into effect this autumn, followed by a rollout in Canada and the UK.

Starbucks employees are expected to receive a complementary Spotify Premium subscription and access to music programming tools that'll allow them to craft in-store playlists accessible on Spotify via the Starbucks mobile app.

Spotify will also include a dedicated section on Spotify, and it'll feature new playlists from Starbucks. The idea is that Starbucks customers and employees will be able to play hear Spotify music whenever they're in a Starbucks store or even just using their mobile phone like normal.

And if they listen often enough, they'll earn stars for the My Starbucks Rewards loyalty program.
