Fans of American folk band Bon Iver are being encouraged to remix tracks from the group’s latest album as part of an online social networking competition.

All ten tracks from the album Bon Iver, Bon Iver can be remixed from stem formats released via Indaba Music, the music-based social networking site. Remixes will then be put on both Indaba Music and Spotify for a public vote.

From a shortlist based on public votes, Bon Iver themselves will choose their ten favourite remixes, which will be collaborated into a new album and launched on Spotify.

As well as having their tracks made available through the music-streaming site, each person who creates one of the winning remixes will be awarded $1,000 (£640 approx).

Bon Iver themselves have got the ball rolling by releasing their own remixes on Spotify under the album Bon Iver, Bon Iver: Stems Project.

All entries must be made by 29 August and details of how to enter can be found on Spotify’s Facebook page.
