MySpace and Sony Pictures Television on have officially announced the new Minisode Network that will offer bite size classic telly episodes on MySpace.

The online network will feature episodes from Sony Pictures Television hit shows edited down to between three and five minutes per episode, although the "full story arc of each episode" will be retained.

The network will launch with three episodes from each of the 15 series initially available.

Among the shows available are classic hits such as Charlie's Angels, Diff'rent Strokes, Partridge Family and Starsky & Hutch.

The network will add new minisodes every week and there are plans to have more than 500 available by the end of the year.

"We are thrilled to be launching the Minisode Network, which will bring some of America's favorite television shows to a whole new audience in an interesting new format that's perfect for digital platforms", said Steve Mosko, president of Sony Pictures Television.

"We've come up with an innovative formula to create quality short-form programming, showcasing the best of our extensive library."
