Nokia Here maps app now live in Play Store, with iOS version coming in 2015

Nokia's Here maps app is now available in the Google Play Store, and it's not just for Samsung devices.
Positioned as an alternative to Google Maps, Here, formerly called Nokia Maps, is a mobile app that features maps in over 180 countries, as well as voice guided turn-by-turn navigation, public transit data, and information on points of interests. Nokia announced in August that Here would initially launch as an Android beta app exclusive to Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
Although the free app is still in beta, it has now received an expanded rollout. Not only is it available for all Android devices running 4.1 and up, but it is also launching in 18 new countries and territories. Highlight features include voice navigation (even without an internet connection), interactive maps for more than 100 countries, real-time traffic notices, and more.

To complement today's rollout, Nokia also shed some light about its plans for an iOS version of the app. The company said it has an iOS app development team that is working hard and hoping to officially launch Here for iOS in early 2015.
