Microsoft has confirmed that it will have resident geeks in its retail stores following a job posting on a Microsoft personnel site.

Although the company has yet to give the Retail Technical Advisor a funky name like Apple with its Geniuses, the software (soon to be) retailer has listed a number of requirements for the role.

Would-be workers for the position will have to have an "elite level of product knowledge in all Microsoft retail product and service offerings," as well as the ability to "Troubleshoot customer issues and provide win-win solutions for our customers".

Minimum requirements include 2 years minimum teaching / training and/or selling in retail and/or service environment, with Microsoft certifications, other technology certifications and a college degree preferred

If that wasn't enough applicants must also be able to multi-task - just like Windows 7 - and be able to lift/carry up to 35kg (75lbs) presumably lugging heavy desktop PCs.

No word on salary, however Microsoft is hiring for its two new stores in Arizona and California.
