A few percentage points may not seem like a big deal, but analysts are still pouncing on the fact that Microsoft Window's share of the operating system market has fallen below 90%.

This is the first time this has ever happened and took place in November, according to Net Applications.

Windows accounted for 89.6% of computers accessing the web last month said the research firm, which monitored 40,000 websites to establish market share and trends.

The November figure was a 0.84% drop from October and was significant because it was the largest Windows market share decline since 2006.

And it's Apple that's benefiting who had won 8.9% of the market by the end of November.
