It seems that Google is always pulling a Google doodle out of the hat these days. If it's not a national or global holiday it's the birthday of someone who invented the loo brush or something. That's why we made the wise choice not to cover them all on Pocket-lint, else we'd be writing a new one up every second day.

However, there's the occasional doodle that piques our interest, and today's Valentine's Day celebratory effort deserves our attention for sure.

Starting out as two Ferris Wheels at a fair, there's a large button you have to press. Do so, and the wheels will spin to stop on a seemingly random pairing of two different animals. They fall in love and you're treated to a little vista of what their date might be like.

Some are funny, some are just plain weird, but it's addictive to see what all the different scenarios could be.

The doodle also has the added bonus of celebrating the birthday of George Ferris, the man who invented the eponymous ride. He was born in 1859 and created the first Ferris Wheel for the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition. So there you go.
