Google has pushed out a quick fix that restores the missing month of December to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The update, which is small at only 1.1MB, arrived on our Nexus 4 handset on Tuesday evening, putting December back in its rightful place.

The small bug on Android Jelly Bean meant that the 12th month was missing from the list, meaning you couldn't, for example, add a birthday in December to a contact in the People app.

Google hasn't listed any other changes that come with the update. We haven't noticed anything on the front end besides the month correction, but it's suspected that a number of other fixes have been made behind the scenes.

The update pushes Android to version 4.2.1. Although it arrived OTA on our Nexus 4 in the office, there's still no sign of it on the Nexus 10. You can manually install the update if you wish.

The update is also rolling out to the Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Nexus, so you should all have December in place ready for the festive season.
