If you’ve been stuck without gmail for the last week, good news, you should be able to log back into your Gmail account according to Google.

“The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better,” says the support message from Google being sent out to users.

Gmailers who were unable to access their Google account since 27 February will also be pleased to hear that they have a large inbox of unread messages to now work their way through too.

You might not have been getting them, but it seems Google was saving them up for when the system turned back on.

“Gmail should be back to normal for the vast majority of people affected by this issue. If you are still experiencing an issue, please contact us at gmail-maintenance@google.com. Thanks again for bearing with us.”

Hundreds of thousands of users have been affected by the outage.
