After seeing himself on Google Street View, 21-stone Bob Mewse was so horrified at his own image that he started a drastic diet and exercise plan.

He was standing outside a filling station near Bristol, UK, when the Street View car snapped him side-on, showing off a mighty waistline garnered through years of junk food, cakes and biscuits. And when he caught a glimpse of the picture a year ago, he decided that enough was enough, it was time to go on a diet:

"I was horrified when I saw that photo. I was massive", said Mewes. "My belly was sticking out and I looked huge".

"I'd been thinking about losing weight for some time, but after seeing that picture, I knew that I actually had to do something about it. I was in such bad condition that I was unable to walk and talk at the same time".

"My blood pressure was sky-high and I was getting back problems due to the excess weight I was carrying around".

His diet included replacing cakes and takeaways with fruit, salads and protein-rich foods, and the exercise plan was extensive.

Now, a 14-stone Mewse is much happier with himself: "If I can do this, anybody can - I'm just an ordinary bloke. I feel much healthier now".

See, Google Street View isn't that bad after all.
