A woman who used Facebook to round up her friends' opinions on a case she was juror for has been dismissed.

The woman, who has not been named, posted details of the child abduction and sex assault case to try and get help in making a decision on whether the defendants were guilty or innocent.

Unfortunately, she had no privacy settings and so anyone could read the posts.

"I don't know which way to go, so I'm holding a poll", she wrote.

Discussing details of a case is against the British constitution as it undermines the chance of a fair trial, and so the woman in question has now been dismissed from Burnley Crown Court, Lancashire.

This followed a court official receiving an anonymous tip off.
