Facebook gives Messenger holiday-inspired features and launches an app just for stickers
Facebook has a few Christmas gifts for you.
The social network has announced it is rolling out "fun holiday" features for Messenger. They include a festive frame for New Year's Eve selfies taken with the Messenger app, as well as snow globe chat heads, and holiday-inspired sticker packs.
Facebook Messenger is an app by Facebook that offers text and voice communication functionality. It is integrated with Facebook Chat and essentially lets Facebook users chat with friends both on mobile and on the main website. It even lets you place calls over Wi-Fi.
To complement the new Messenger features, Facebook has also released what it described as a "lightweight new Creative Labs app by the Messenger team". Called Stickered, the app lets you add stickers to photos and then send those photos to friends via Messenger.
"All of these fun features will be available over the holidays. People can start downloading Stickered for Messenger from the Play Store later today and it will be coming soon to the App Store," explained Facebook in a blog post.
Both Messenger and Stickered are free apps to download.
