BT has announced that it's going to be installing Wi-Fi across a number of traditional British holiday destinations in a partnership with Wicom. 77 Camping and Caravanning Club sites, three Pontin's holiday parks and a number of Coastfields' Leisure sites will be covered.

50,000 visits are expected to the sites over the August bank holiday, says the company, and they'll be able to log on for free via any wireless-enabled device if they're a BT Broadband customer.

O2 iPhone and mobile broadband users with inclusive Wi-Fi minutes in their contracts will also have access, and if you don't fall into any of those camps then there are also vouchers you can buy.

Chris Bruce, general manager of BT Openzone told Pocket-lint: "Having the option to get online and stay entertained will provide a useful 'plan B' if the weather does its worst, and being able to look up tourist information and hunt out local gems will make for a better trip".

BT currently has over 400,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK and Ireland.
