BT has launched the Stratus 1500, describing it as "a sleek and stylish cordless phone sure to appeal to the design conscious household."

The base unit of the Stratus is a triangular prism, and the silver and black handset sits upright in a curved dip.

A blue message counter shows the number of new voicemails, and the answerphone is operated by silver buttons across the front of the base.

The handset features a white on black screen, and sunken buttons for a smooth streamlined finish. The Stratus' functions include text-messaging, polyphonic ringtones and a 100 name and number phonebook.

The handset has a range of up to 300 metres outdoors and 50 metres indoors and boasts battery life of up to 10 hours talktime and 100 hours standby time.

It is available from in single, twin and trio packs for £69.99, £109.99 and £149.99 respectively.
