A one-off mention of "iPhone Extreme" in the HTML code of the Apple site will no doubt trigger intense speculation about future incarnations of Apple's mobile.
Although the AppleInsider team themselves say "this one's a stretch", the report will almost certainly be spread across blogs far and wide.
The "iPhone Extreme" term was discovered within the page source of the feedback form as a value, prompting speculation that it could be a future version of the device.
We know that Apple are currently working on a 3G iPhone, which could in theory carry the "Extreme" tag, it's certainly more likely to be this than the rumoured, and never confirmed, iPhone nano.
Or, it could be nothing. Keep it here for iPhone news, rumour and idle speculation.
STORY UPDATE: It seems it was an error, with a web-worker over-typing iPhone details into an Airport Extreme page.
