Apple has listed its first feature movie on its iTunes store in the US.

Although the movie isn't the latest Hollywood blockbuster, the made-for-TV Disney Channel original movie by the name of "High School Musical" is nonetheless the first full-length movie to be offered through the iTMS.

At 487Mb it's a little more than the usual music download, however that hasn't stopped a $1.99 price tag, the same as a episode of Lost or Desperate Housewives, being pinned on the download.

The move could symbolise the start of more films and movies to come and although the grey area here is over whether this is a movie or not, it's 1 hour 40 minutes long, or just an extended TV show, it shows that Apple is keen to take the store and its offering further.

The company has yet to launch television or film downloads in the UK. It is believed that licensing issues are delaying the launch.

UPDATE: It appears Apple has raised the price to $9.99 now
