Apple has added a group of new TV shows that users can download to play on their new video iPod alongside Desperate Housewives and Lost on its iTunes Music Download Store.

Launched today, the new line of programmes will now include a selection of shows from NBC, Sci Fi and USA.

The service, launched in November, original only had five shows from channels Disney and ABC.

Customers will now be able to download the following shows from NBC: Law and Order, The Office, Surface, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dragnet, Adam-12, and Knight Rider.

The following from the Sci Fi channel: Battlestar Galactica, Battlestar Galactica Miniseries and Monk from USA

Most episodes remain priced at $1.99 per episode. However, Eeisodes classed as "vintage" episodes of older television shows such as Knight Rider, Adam-12, Dragnet, and Alfred Hitchcock will be charged at $9.99 per episode.

Apple has still to release any details of a UK launch for the service.

We will keep you posted.
