Infamous online hacker DVD Jon, has turned his back on the movie industry for the time being and has decided to see what he can do with DRM and FairPlay.

Jon Lech Johansen hit the headlines six years ago after cracking copyright protection on DVD movies. Now according to reports on the web he has joined forces with two other crackers to release software that will bypass Apple's iTunes FairPlay digital rights management code.

The software called PyMusique will allow users to copy songs bought through the iTunes music store on to other MP3 players other than the company's iPod. The software bypasses Apple's DRM procedure just before the DRM element is added to the song users download. This allows files to be copied over and over again.

The PyMusique software seems to go against Apple's terms of service, which requires users access the iTMS code only through approved Apple software.
