Apple has confirmed that it will be releasing a new version of iTunes in the next couple of weeks to coincide with the launch of the iPhone

Although details are incredibly thin at the moment as to what the new software will offer users, the company references it in a press release that was sent to Pocket-lint for the new phone, announced at the start of WWDC in San Francisco.

"iOS 4 software will be available on June 21 as a free software update via iTunes 9.2 or later for iPhone and iPod touch customers", reads the official statement from Apple.

The current version Apple iTunes users use is version 9.1.1.

We presume the new update will be connected to a number of new features Apple is rolling out with the new handset including the new iOS 4 (previously called iPhone OS 4).

We will keep you posted.
