Adobe and Intel have announced plans to work together to bring the Flash platform to televisions.
The project will see the companies to port and optimise Adobe Flash technology for the Intel Media Processor CE 3100.
The companies say this will provide consumers with "richer and more seamless Web-based and video viewing experiences" through Intel-based cable set-top boxes, Blu-ray disc players, digital TVs and other AV devices.
Intel says it plans to ship the first CE3100 with support for an optimised implementation of Adobe Flash Lite before mid-2009.
The companies are also working together to bring Adobe's AIR technology to Intel’s digital home platform in the future.
