Adobe has thrown a bone to those who are disappointed about Apple's failure to get Flash support into the iPad, offering developers the ability to package their content into apps, instead.

The Packager for iPhone application, which was announced at MAX 2009, will be included in Flash Pro CS5, says Adobe, simultaneously confirming the existence of CS5. Initially, the software won't allow developers to take advantage of the larger screen size on the iPad, but the company says it intends to make that functionality available in time.

Adobe's also put out a call for Flash developers who are interested in porting their work to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPod. The company is after those who have a specific app in mind that'll be in a releasable state in the next 2 months - which may indicate a timeframe for the release of CS5. If you fit in that category, then drop Adobe an email at iphone-prerelease@adobe.com.
