Yahoo has announced the beat launch of "Search Pad", describing it as "your online personal research assistant".
Yahoo says the new exclusive search feature lets users capture, organise, save and share information they find while researching online.
Search Pad is angled as especially valuable for people conducting extensive research in categories such as academic, health, jobs, travel, or shopping.
Rather than bookmarking, pasting snippets of text into docs, emailing your self links and jotting down notes, Yahoo says Search Pad automatically recognises when people are conducting research (which sounds potentially annoying a la Microsoft's Clippit) and offers up an an "integrated notepad".
A little like an automated notepad with a history function, Yahoo says people can edit their notes and then print, save, email, or share their Search Pad documents.
Yahoo Search Pad will be rolling out across in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
