Much has been written in the past few years about the dangers of laptops and portable hard drives falling into the wrong hands. If you work with confidential information on a regular basis, therefore, you'll want some encryption on your drive.

The bizarrely-named "X-Wall Files" is here to help. It's a USB hard disk with 160, 320 or 500GB of storage and real-time full disk 128-bit AES encryption.

The manufacturers, ESM, claim that there's no performance loss associated with the encryption, which is built in on the hardware end of things, so the drive should be immune from virus attacks and software validation problems, too.

It's available in either a "Premier Version" for consumers, or a "Professional Package" for big companies. It's only compatible with Windows XP, 2000 and Vista though. Drives featuring 256,
320, and 500 bit AES encryption are available on request

The drive costs £90 for 160GB, £105 for 320GB and £160 for 500GB.
