GiiNii showed off their Movit Mini device at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Built on the Android platform, the Movit is pitched as a social networker, letting you keep in contact with your buddies, provided, yes, you have a Wi-Fi connection: ideal at home or when hanging in McDonald’s...

Featuring in a 4.3-inch, 480 x 272 resolution touchscreen, the Mini gives you everything you need for Skype calls, featuring a built-in mic, speaker and webcam. It also features Bluetooth 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but only 256MB of onboard storage so you’ll be needing to use the microSD card slot to upgrade to take advantage of the music and video playback capabilities.

The Wi-Fi connection of course will allow access to online content, be it RSS feeds, games, or just whiling away your time reading Pocket-lint.co.uk.

A 7-inch Movit Maxx version will also be available later in the year, but details were scant.

Expected mid-2009, the price should be around $149 for the Mini.
