Freecom is launching the new Slimline Mobile DVD RW Recorder LS Pro.

Claimed to be "the ideal companion for both PC and MAC notebook users on the move", the recorder is super thin and even said to be small enough to fit into a pocket.

It is 1.7x14.4x14 cm and weighs 600g including its battery.

The recorder comes with both USB 2.0 and Firewire connections so can be used with Macs and PCs.

Freecom adds that the recorder can burn up to 8.5GB of data, images or multimedia files.

It delivers read and write speeds of between 24x (for CD-R, CD-RW and CD-ROMs) down to 4x for DVD+R Double Layer.

Speeds are 8x for DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-R.

It is supplied in a strong but light aluminium casing.

The Freecom Mobile DVD RW Recorder LS Pro is available now and comes with a free five-pack of CD-R LightScribe media, Roxio & Toast software, two years manufacturers warranty and unlimited (UK based) helpdesk support.

It is priced £79.99.
