Those nice folk over at London-centric website the Londonist, apparently frustrated by lack of a central info resource on our glorious capital's free Wi-Fi spots got off their heinies and have started their own map.

Showing free public hotspots, as well as eatery-type established that have wireless access, the team want to hear of any free, legitimate places where access can be gained - without tapping into unsecured networks.

The Londonist lot have not included the City of London's The Cloud network as it is only free for the first month.

Recent figures showed that others have been giving The Cloud a similarly wide berth – only 6000 out of a potential 350,000 have registered to use the service in its first month.
