Unibrain has unveiled iZak, a portable digital multimedia player designed to store content and play back on any TV or other display.

Once connected to a PC or Mac via USB2.0, you can rip DVDs or TV shows to it so that you can take it with you. It supports HDTV-quality video and Dolby Digital quality audio.

iZak supports MPEG1/2/4 for video, and WAV, MP3, MPEG4, WMA, and AC3 audio; it’s also certified for DivX. Bundled with a remote control, once connected to your TV it operates like a regular DVD player.

Just like other portable hard drives, it also stores and backs up data.

Connectivity includes component and Scart RGB, as well as 5.1/Dolby Digital audio. The iZak is available in 40 and 80GB models in the UK – see Unibrain’s

website

for more information.

Just one question: why didn’t they include a display screen?
