Bulldog, the broadband provider has announced that it has doubled the speed of its broadband service to up to 16 meg for consumers and businesses across the UK.
Bulldog’s DoubleSpeed Broadband service, based on the new ADSL2+ technology, promises to offer download speeds of up to 16 meg for the price many people pay today for a 1 or 2 meg service.
Upload speeds will perform at 1 meg instead of the standard 256Kbps. The DoubleSpeed service is available to both existing and new customers and, as usual, comes with the Bulldog phone line.
New residential customers will have a choice of two DoubleSpeed packages. New customers can purchase Anytime Plus for £9.75 for the first month or Unlimited Plus for £19.50 for the 2 months and will receive a free high-speed modem. Prices rise to £24.50 thereafter.
Business customers now have the option to purchase our new Small Business Plus package for £45 a month. This includes one Bulldog Business phone line, broadband up to 16Mbp/s download and up to 1Mbp/s upload as well as a wireless router (£30).
Small Business Plus customers subscribing to two additional phone lines receive the wireless router free of charge. The Small Business Plus package is available to existing customers for an activation fee of £80.
DoubleSpeed broadband is available across Bulldog’s entire footprint. The company said it was hoping to be able to offer the service to almost half the UK broadband population by September.
