MTV Networks UK and Ireland today announces the first stage launch of its online video on-demand music and entertainment service, MTV Overdrive.

The new service gives extra access to exclusive, clips-based content from your favourite MTV shows, which you simply can't get anywhere else - it's MTV with extra chips.

The once only music television station says that, "MTV Overdrive opens the door to the best of MTV's hit shows including Pimp My Ride UK, Screenplay, Punk'd, Dirty Sanchez and more, as well as bespoke news packages, movie trailers and a selection of music videos".

The service will launch on Sunday 23rd April 2006 when MTV Overdrive debuts.

The launch coincides with the television premiere of Pimp My Ride UK, series 2.

After the show, Pimp My Ride fans can log-on to see behind the scenes clips giving them a closer look at what's involved.

The company has said that the extra clips will be available free of charge to view, all users have to do is just click your favourite shows from one of four sections including, News, OnTV, Music and Movies.

Users will be able to add clips to a personalised playlist that, in a similar way to Sky+ will allow you to build your own personal playlist that is automatically updated week in, week out.
