Flipboard 3.0, the sequel: iOS and Android apps updated with new look and features

There was a time when Flipboard was the cutting edge of content aggregation apps, but many have followed since and manufacturers have even baked similar experiences into their phones' user interfaces (we're looking at you HTC).
Flipboard, therefore, has gone through its second major refresh with a new user interface, home screen and a Daily Edition news magazine that presents Flipboard curated stories in a quick, digestible manner from the world of sports, news and entertainment.
The Daily Edition section is also region-specific, so will offer different stories based on your location, be that UK, India, Brazil or Latin America. It also has two US versions, one in English, the other in Spanish.
A new edition will appear every day at 7am, much like a morning newspaper. Breaking news stories will be added throughout the day. A daily audio track will also be included, as well as a "parting GIF" (see what they did there?).
Flipboard 3.0 is also optimised for bigger devices, with phone screen sizes rapidly rising. And other new features include a greater emphasis on following. "Flipboard is your personal magazine, and now it's even easier to make it yours," said Evan Doll, Flipboard co-founder.
"By following your interests, you'll see tailored highlights and recommendations every time you visit Flipboard. You'll discover new perspectives from over 10 million magazines created by our readers. And the new streamlined phone interface is even faster & simpler to use."
The Flipboard 3.0 update is available as a free download on iTunes and Google Play now.
