The Wall Street Journal caught up with Shaquille O'Neal at the SXSW in Austin, Texas to discuss geeky habits.

The 7' 1" (2.16m) basketball star revealed he spends $1,000 a week, or $52,000 a year, on mobile apps for his iPhone.

He also spoke of his love for technology. So much love, that he called Steve Jobs in 2007 begging to get the original iPhone early - to no avail - and is currently pleading Tim Cook and Co. for the iWatch's release.

So what are O'Neal's favourite apps? The basketball star has a thing for deer hunting.

Fun fact: O'Neal was one of the first investors in Google, before it went public. Oh, he also won four NBA championships.

We wonder if he plays himself in NBA 2K13 for the iPhone.
