Firefox 4 is all set to go live, with a stable release, next month and is apparently going to "kick-ass".

But before that there's time for yet another beta release (we're up to nine now) although this one does bring in a few major additions, most notably with Firefox Sync finally arriving at the party.

Firefox 4 Beta 9 comes with a fresh new look and key design change and has App Tabs and Panorama support, for smoother and easier browsing.

There's also HTML5 and HD video support, and extra developer tools including WebM and HD video, 3D graphic rendering with WebGL, hardware acceleration and the Mozilla Audio API to help create visual experiences for sound.

"Firefox 4 Beta is built for the way people use the Web today, offering more control over the browsing experience", read a blog post introducing the beta.

"We continue to improve and polish Firefox 4 Beta to ensure we deliver an awesome experience to our 400 million users around the world. We couldn’t do this without the help of our beta testers and their feedback".
