Apple has approved Firefox Home for lift-off, and the syncing app is now available in the App Store. It's free of charge....what are you waiting for? Get it now.

The app, whilst not technically a browser, does include a browser within the app and it lets you access your Firefox history, bookmarks and recent tabs. It also includes the awesome bar that desktop Firefox fans will be familiar with.

We're not likely to see an actual Firefox browser on the iPhone in the near future because Firefox uses an independent rendering engine and a JavaScript interpreter and Apple's SDK agreement states that iPhone browsers have to use its own JavaScript engine. Opera Mini is available though, so maybe there is some hope that Mozilla will come to a compromise.

You'll need the Firefox Sync add-on running within your desktop Firefox if you're planning on using Firefox Home. If you've not signed up for an account yet, it's easy enough to do - and it can link all of your PCs or Macs together as well as giving you the data now on your iPhone.

We're big fans of Firefox Sync and the release of Firefox Home is a real bonus.

Give it a try and let us know if you find it as useful as we do.
