UK Apple iPad users will be getting a book store for their new internet tablet from Apple, but thanks to Amazon rather than Apple.

Following the launch of the Kindle for Mac app, the online retailer has released a tablet version; Kindle Apps for Tablet Computers.

The new version, according to the blurb, will bring 450,000 Kindle books to your tablet device, which will include that iPad you're so desperate to read books on.

Not wanting to miss out on all the potential Kindle book readers that will switch or opt for the iPad over the Kindle, Amazon is planning on having its cake and eating it.

Like other versions of the software, users will be able to customise background colour and font size to ease eye strain, adjust screen brightness and "enjoy" turn page animation that will remind you of reading a book rather than just looking at a screen.

All you need now, is a tablet computer.
