- Verdict
- Solid feel contender for enthusiastic amateurs wanting a more portable back up for their existing DSLR, without sacrificing too much in the way of manual control. Shame no HD video though, and the price may cause eyes to water

- The lack of an optical viewfinder may irk, while the VF1 accessory finder sacrifices the hot shoe, the tiny joy stick control is fiddly to use too
- Verdict
- The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 is a beautiful little camera that offers a host of features including MEGA O.I.S, Panasonic’s optical image stabilising technology and a superb lens. The Lumix LX3 may just be the most complete digital compact for enthusiasts yet, and I want one

- Overall we can’t help feeling a bit disappointed. It feels as though the numbers have been geared up to 10 megapixels and HD video but without rounding off the whole package

- You do get a lot in the box, with the various mounting options, but unfortunately the sound quality really let us down. If you are one of those sorts that doesn’t need the sound for whatever reason, you might still be tempted by its glorious looks alone
